Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina began her career with hilarious rap tracks that tackled sexuality and racial identities with a boldly comedic perspective before broadening her reach to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. She also received classical and jazz training later delving into hip-hop as a teenager. After concentrating on education, she earned an education in journalism at college and a women's studies major. The focus changed to music only after she graduated. The track My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included in her first album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album also included popular hits that went viral, such as body-positive Queef or the winking city tour NYC Bitche$. The latter track was linked to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. After having a great career as a singer, she chose to assume the character of actress. She's appeared in movies including Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, her breakthrough role was in Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
